So there is some chance a newer openGL file is going to help here and I would recommend trying that first actually after what I just read. I base this on how many reports of crashing I just found with one simple search and all of them seem to be related to the graphics system failing on start. I don't think this is a conflict with something on your system and thus using msconfig to turn stuff off and produce a vanilla environment which is very helpful sometimes probably is not going to be helpful here.
